Velada Tomasina

This week has been a very chill week for us. Aside from we don't have a lot of things to think of because we just ended the Prelims examination, it is also UST's celebration of the closing Quadricentennial Week and the start of its 5th century. So a part of its celebration is an event called Velada Tomasina where students and faculty members of the whole university are encouraged to where clothes from the 19th century. At first, I thought that it was kinda lame to where Filipiniana and Barong for the whole day just to please UST but when the event came close, we all thought that it must be exciting to be a part of the once in a lifetime activity. So we never thought that it will going to be as fun as this. haha! UST traveled back in time to commemorate its first years.
So here are the pictures that I took from my phone and from a friend to describe how it has been that day.

Here is the stage of performers, playing music from the 19th century. The design was made of bamboo and it actually look so complex. This stage is actually good.

A view of people wearing Filipiniana and on the back is an imitation of a house from the 19th century.

A mix of people wearing 19th century outfits and people wearing 20th century outfit.

A copy with a 19th century effect and the actual picture.

Of course, a picture of yours truly. lol. The last picture is a picture with the greatest and coolest Dean in UST for me, Dean De Alban. lol.
